Ask Me Anything, I'll Tell You the Truth

What is "Light Work"?

Light work refers to spiritual practices or actions aimed at bringing healing, positivity, and transformation—both personal and collective. People who identify as light workers often believe their purpose is to help others heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, while raising the overall vibration or consciousness of the world. Found in many spiritual and metaphysical traditions, light work includes practices like energy healing, meditation, intuitive guidance, and spiritual counseling.

Isn't this all made up?

Many people believe that tarot, mediumship, and astrology are fiction—parlor tricks for entertainment or even something darker. However, for centuries, scholars, philosophers, scientists, and artists have used these practices to navigate life’s mysteries. Alchemy, the ancient study of matter—mercury, salt, and sulfur—is the precursor to modern chemistry. Hermeticism and Freemasonry incorporated these mystical practices alongside mathematics, astronomy, and biology, linking the study of the physical world with the metaphysical realm.

Famous individuals have also turned to these practices. Thomas Edison reportedly explored mediumship and was working on an invention to communicate with the dead. David Bowie, the legendary musician, was known for his interest in the occult and spiritual practices, which shaped his final album, Blackstar. Writers such as Victor Hugo and Ted Hughes used tarot and channeling for inspiration in their art.

The only fiction is the narrative that these practices hold no value.

But don't religions say this is bad?

The Lighthouse is not associated with any specific religious sect. We practice spiritualism, which technically can be considered a religion, but one that believes in true equality—“As above, so below.” Spiritualism sees life as eternal, and mediumship is just another way of expressing what others may call “God.” Light work empowers individuals to take control of their own healing and growth, aligning with their higher selves and life purpose. Institutions often fear this empowerment because it encourages people to think and live according to their own ideals. When life is seen as eternal, fear of loss—and control—is diminished. It's hard to profit off ever-lasting life.

What if I don't believe in God?

Belief in God is not required to seek guidance. At its simplest, light work reconnects you to the world and the elements that make up nature—earth, air, fire, and water. These arts are based on our surroundings, and modern self-care trends often dilute their power. The Lighthouse guides seekers back to truth: we are connected to everything, and every answer we need is already within us. You hold the key and the door. We simply shine the light so you can see.

You should never depend on a Light Worker.

This is not meant to be an ongoing relationship. If done well, light work teaches you to tap into your own intuition, sense of direction, and purpose. The goal is to help you navigate safely toward your true calling and continue the journey on your own.
